A DREAM COME TRUE

WHAT WOULD YOU BUILD IF YOU COULD DREAM LARGER THAN YOUR APARTMENT?

That’s the question that led CCNYC to dream up what we now celebrate as CultureCon in founder Imani Ellis’ 1-bedroom Harlem living room six years ago. To celebrate their NYC homecoming, we created a recreation of that origin story infused with the spirit of what could be. In an activation built on intimacy and connection, over 3500 guests had a chance to go back to the beginning and reflect on their own dreams. One by one, photographers took polaroid pictures wrapped in custom frames to recognize each dreamer and they were prompted to write down goals they wanted to chase on the back to take home as affirmative keepsakes. After, they were guided to a shared dining table where creatives of color could share their information and learn how to eat together.
